The permissible time for the Tawaf al-Ifadah begins at the middle of the night preceding the Day of Sacrifice (Laylat an-Nahr). This is the position held by Al-Shafi'i.
Supporting text
Abu Hanifa held that the permissible time begins at the break of dawn (Fajr) on the Day of Sacrifice and ends at the conclusion of the last days of the Sacrifice (i.e., the end of Tashreeq days). This view is based on the ruling concerning the time for the stoning ritual (Ramy).
