Primary text

In one narration, the pilgrim performing Hajj Ifraad or Qiran is not permitted to exit Ihram or slaughter his offering until the Day of Sacrifice. This is because the offering has both a prescribed time and place. If the required place is unattainable, the time requirement remains obligatory as it is still possible to fulfill. If slaughtering the offering before the Day of Sacrifice is not allowed, then exiting Ihram is also not permitted, based on the evidence from the Quran: "And do not shave your heads until the offering has reached its prescribed place" (Quran 2:196).

Supporting text

The first narration permits exiting Ihram and slaughtering the offering, analogizing it to Umrah because Hajj, which is time-sensitive and risks being missed, is considered more deserving of allowance than Umrah, which never lapses.
