Primary text

It is recommended that people should not depart from Arafat until the appointed leader (Wali) responsible for Hajj matters, appointed by the Imam, departs. Ahmad expressed disapproval of departing before the Imam. The recommended action is to wait until the Imam departs, then proceed towards Muzdalifah with tranquility and dignity. This is supported by the Prophet's conduct during the Farewell Pilgrimage, where he restrained his she-camel, saying, "O people, tranquility, tranquility," as narrated by Jabir. Furthermore, the Prophet indicated disapproval of harsh driving when he gestured with his whip, stating, "O people, adhere to tranquility, for righteousness is not achieved by forcibly driving camels," as reported by Al-Bukhari.
