If one can touch the Black Stone using something held in the hand, such as a staff or similar object, one should do so. Ibn Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) performed Tawaf during the Farewell Pilgrimage, touching the corner [Hajar al-Aswad] with a hooked staff (mihjan). All these actions regarding the Stone touching and kissing are recommended acts (Mustahabb).
