Is proxy Hajj permissible for a woman to perform on behalf of a man or another woman?

It is permissible for a woman to perform the Hajj by proxy for a man or for another woman. This is the position held by the general body of scholars. The basis for this permission is supported by the Sunnah, as the Prophet, peace be upon him, commanded a woman to perform Hajj on behalf of her father who had obligations remaining. This ruling is further supported by the narration of Abu Razeen and other similar traditions.
