What qualities should the Ihram garments possess?

It is recommended that the Izar and Rida' be clean, either new or freshly washed, mirroring the recommendation for bodily cleanliness, similar to the person attending Friday prayer. It is preferable that the garments be white, based on the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) saying: 'The best of your garments are those that are white; so clothe your living in them and shroud your dead in them.'
