Al-Mughni
Book of Hajj
Primary text
Upon finishing the Tawaf, praying the two rak'ahs, and touching the Black Stone, it is recommended to exit to Safa through its specific door, ascend it until the Ka'bah is visible, face the Qibla, and then proclaim the greatness of Allah (Takbir), the oneness of Allah (Tahleel), praise of Allah (Tahmid), and send blessings upon the Prophet (PBUH). One should recite: 'There is no god but Allah alone, without partner, to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is over all things capable. There is no god but Allah alone, He fulfilled His promise, aided His servant, and alone routed the confederates.' This sequence is to be repeated three times, beginning with the recitation of Quran 2:158: 'Indeed, as-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah.' One may supplicate for the good of this world and the Hereafter between these repetitions.

It is also permissible to supplicate using the specific Du'a (supplication) of Ibn 'Umar. This includes reciting Takbir seven times (three sets of three, and one final one), followed by: 'There is no god but Allah alone, without partner, to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is over all things capable. There is no god but Allah, we worship none but Him, sincerely obeying Him in religion even if the disbelievers detest it.' Following this is a lengthy series of supplications seeking protection, guidance, and blessings in this life and the next, as narrated from Ibn 'Umar.
