Chapter on the Description of Hajj

Book of Hajj
Primary text
The prescribed sequence for the acts on the Day of Sacrifice is: first, the Stoning (Ramy); second, the Sacrifice (Nahr); third, the Shaving/Clipping of the hair (Halaq); and fourth, the Circumambulation (Tawaf). This order is established because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, performed and described the rites in this exact sequence, as narrated by Jabir concerning the Prophet's Hajj. Anas narrated that the Prophet threw the pebbles, then sacrificed, then shaved.
