What is required of a person upon realizing they have applied prohibited perfume (طيب)?

It is obligatory upon the person who has applied prohibited perfume to wash it off and to remove any clothing (لباس) to which the prohibition attaches. This is because applying it constitutes a forbidden act, and thus its continuation must be ceased, similar to all other prohibited matters.
