What is the ruling on one performing Hajj while begging from people?

It is disliked (*makruh*) for the one performing Hajj, even if it is not obligatory upon him, to beg from people for his expenses. This prohibition stems from the fact that such an action burdens the people and makes him a liability upon them for undertaking something that is not incumbent upon him.
