If people err in determining the day of 'Arafah and stand on the wrong day, their standing is accepted if some individuals in the group correctly match the actual day of 'Arafah. Evidence is provided by a narration from Al-Daraqutni via Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah bin Khalid bin Usaid, where the Prophet, peace be upon him, stated: "The Day of 'Arafah is the day people recognize it. If they differ, and some are correct while some err regarding the time of standing, it does not suffice them because they are not excused in this matter." Furthermore, the ruling regarding the breaking of the fast is supported by the narration of Abu Hurairah, where the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Your breaking of the fast is the day you break your fast, and your sacrifice is the day you make your sacrifice," narrated by Al-Daraqutni and others.
