Primary text

The one performing Umrah who is not performing the Hajj through Tamattu' status is released from the state of Ihram (Halal). This applies whether or not they have a sacrificial animal (Hady) with them, and regardless of whether it is during the months of Hajj or outside of them. This ruling is established because the Prophet, peace be upon him, performed three Umrahs (besides the one combined with his Farewell Hajj), some of which occurred in Dhul Qa'dah, and it is stated that all of them were in Dhul Qa'dah, and in all instances, he exited the state of Ihram.
