What is the ruling regarding a marriage contract entered into or solemnized by a person in the state of Ihram?
Chapter on What the Muhrim Must Avoid and What is Permissible for Him
Al-Mughni
Book of Hajj
Primary text
If a person in the state of Ihram enters into a marriage contract as a groom, acts as a guardian (Wali), or if a woman in Ihram acts as a guardian for another, no expiation (Fidyah) is incumbent upon them. This is because the contract is nullified due to the state of Ihram, similar to the invalidity of hunting game while in Ihram.
