What is the ruling regarding one who is obligated to perform the Umrah sacrifice (Sadaqat al-Mut'ah) but dies before completing it due to an excuse preventing fasting?
Chapter on the Description of Hajj
Al-Mughni
Book of Hajj
Primary text
If a person obligated to perform the sacrifice for Mut'ah dies before performing the fast due to a valid excuse preventing them from fasting, no penalty is due from them. However, if the death occurred without a valid excuse, an offering (*It'am*) must be made on their behalf, similar to the ruling for missed days of Ramadan fasting. This is because the obligation of this fast originates from the primary legislation, resembling the fast of Ramadan.
