Primary text

Sexual intercourse that does not involve the proper sexual organ (such as anal intercourse without ejaculation) is differentiated from intercourse that involves the vagina. Such an act is not considered one of the major sins when committed with a non-related woman, does not necessitate a dowry, does not require a waiting period ('iddah), does not incur a legal punishment (hadd), and does not mandate ritual washing (ghusl) unless ejaculation occurs. If ejaculation occurs, it becomes similar to the ruling for full intercourse.

Supporting text

Shafi'i and Abu Thawr stated that there is no difference between intercourse in the vagina and intercourse in the anus.
