If a man has a seminal discharge resulting purely from intrusive thought (fikr), no ruling or legal consequence is attached to him. This is because intrusive thoughts occur to a person without intention or choice, and thus no legal ruling is connected to them, similar to the ruling regarding fasting. The Prophet (peace be upon him) stated: “Indeed, Allah has pardoned my Ummah for what their souls utter to themselves, as long as they do not act upon it or speak of it.” This hadith is agreed upon (Muttafaq 'alayh).
