Primary text

If uncertainty remains before Tawaf and Sa'i, the person should designate the ritual as Qiran. If the forgotten ritual was Qiran, the intention is correct. If it was Umrah, incorporating Hajj makes them Qiran. If it was Ifrad, the Umrah Ihram is nullified, and the Hajj Ihram is valid. Converting it to Ifrad is also permissible, but it will not count for the Umrah, due to the possibility that the forgotten ritual was Ifrad, making the addition of Umrah impermissible. No penalty (damm) is due due to doubt concerning the existence of its cause.
