Primary text

If the oath was related to Hajj, the husband has the right to prevent her because Hajj in a vow of contention or anger does not become definitively binding; rather, she has the choice between performing it or offering expiation. Thus, he can prevent her before she enters Ihram in all cases, unlike fasting. If the fast becomes obligatory, it is treated like a vowed fast. Commencement without proper procedure has no sanctity concerning the rights holder.
