Primary text

The sacrificial blood offering remains obligatory for the pilgrim who invalidates their Ihram prior to reaching the Miqat. This view is held by Al-Shafi'i, Ishaq, Abu Thawr, and Ibn al-Mundhir. The obligation stems from the invalidation itself under the current state of Ihram. This is analogous to other invalidated rituals and the penalty for hunting game, as the required penalty is tied to the breach of the sacred state.

Al-Thawri and the Companions of Ra'y (Ahl al-Ra'y) hold that the sacrifice is waived because the subsequent required fulfillment (Qada') of Hajj becomes the mandatory duty, thereby nullifying the initial penalty.
