Primary text
The sanctity of the Haram (sanctuary area) does not impose any prohibition on consuming domestic animals like livestock. The prohibition established by Allah is specific to hunting within the Haram. The practice of the Prophet slaughtering animals within the Haram while in Ihram confirms that domestic animals are permissible.
