Primary text

It is recommended for one returning from Hajj to recite the supplication narrated by Al-Bukhari from Abdullah ibn Umar. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to recite this when returning from a military campaign, Hajj, or Umrah. Upon ascending any high ground, he would say: 'La ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadeer, aayibuna taa'ibuna 'abiduna, lirabbina hamiduna, sadaqallahu wa'dahu, wa nasara 'abdahu, wa hazamal ahzaaba wahdah' (There is no god but Allah alone, without partner; to Him belongs the dominion, and to Him belongs all praise, and He is over all things competent. Returning, repenting, worshipping, to our Lord giving praise. Allah has fulfilled His promise, supported His servant, and routed the confederates alone).
