If Zakat is given to an individual who outwardly appears poor, and it is subsequently discovered that he is wealthy, there are two established legal opinions regarding whether this distribution fulfills the obligation, similar to rulings concerning Zakat distribution generally. Imam Al-Shafi'i holds two distinct opinions on this matter.
