What is the ruling when a highway robber kills multiple individuals but steals nothing?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Highway Robbers
Primary text
If a highway robber kills a group of people without stealing, the robber is executed absolutely for the first killing. The remaining victims' heirs are entitled to blood money (Diyah). The mandatory execution is established due to the initial killing, which does not lapse. Consequently, the rights of the remaining heirs are fixed upon blood money, similar to a case where the victim dies naturally after the initial liability is established.
