What are the obligations of a Mahram accompanying a woman being exiled (taghrib)?

A Mahram must accompany the woman until she is settled in a place. If the Mahram feels secure regarding her safety thereafter, he may return. Alternatively, he may remain with her until her term of exile is complete. This is the ruling according to our companions (Ashabuna).
