If two individuals enter jointly, and one alone removes the property, amputation is obligatory upon both according to the companions of Imam Ahmad and the school of Abu Hanifa and his two companions, provided that the removed amount constitutes two *nisab* (thresholds for amputation). This is because they shared responsibility in the act.

Supporting text

Malik, Al-Shafi'i, Abu Thawr, and Ibn al-Mundhir rule that amputation applies only to the person who physically removed the property, as he is considered the sole thief.
