What is the ruling regarding the door ring (Halaqat al-Bab) concerning the establishment of a Hirz?

The door ring is considered to establish the enclosure only if it is fixed with nails (Musammurah); otherwise, it does not constitute a Hirz, as its function as security relies upon its being nailed down.
