General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Ḥudūd (Prescribed Penalties)
Primary text
If one states, 'O adulterer, son of an adulteress' (Ya zani ibn az-zaniyah), and the mother is alive, then both individuals (the father/slandered man and the mother) are entitled to the Hadd penalty. If the mother is deceased, both acts of slander are directed against the status relating to her, and the Hadd is established for the son regarding both imputations.
