Primary text

The consumption of the Ghuddah and the heart valve is disliked (makruh). This ruling is supported by a narration from Mujahid stating that the Messenger of Allah disliked six parts of a sheep, mentioning these two. Furthermore, there is an inherent aversion and revulsion felt by the soul towards these parts. It is believed that Ahmad's dislike stems from this revulsion rather than the specific narration.

Supporting text

Ahmad ibn Hanbal stated regarding the narration mentioning these parts, including the spleen, that it is a repudiated hadith (hadith munkar). He himself stated that he dislikes none of the parts of the sheep, implying permissibility or lack of strong objection, especially regarding the spleen.
