Must a fetus found alive after the mother's slaughter be slaughtered separately?

Primary text
If the fetus emerges with stable life capable of being slaughtered, but is left until it dies without being slaughtered, it is not considered properly slaughtered. Ahmad stated that if it exits alive, it must be slaughtered because it is a separate soul. This is the view of 'Ata, 'Amr ibn Dinar, Malik, and Ash-Shafi'i, with no known dissenters. 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) advised not to hasten the taking of souls until they have fully departed.
