Primary text
The seventh condition is that the predator must be released while the hunter sees or senses game. If the predator is released when the hunter sees nothing and has no sense of game, and subsequently catches something, the catch is not permissible. This is the opinion of the majority because the animal was not sent upon specific game. Similarly, if an arrow is shot toward a target and accidentally hits and kills game, or if an arrow shot upward falls and kills game, it is not permissible because the intent was not directed towards a specific game animal, making it analogous to setting a knife trap where an unintended animal is caught.
