Is a general Tasmiyah pronounced over a herd sufficient for a specific animal taken from it?

If a person sees a flock of sheep and says, 'Bismillah' (In the name of God), and then takes one sheep and slaughters it without a specific Tasmiyah pronounced over that individual animal, the meat is not lawful (halal).
