Is it forbidden to cut cooked meat with a knife?

Primary text
The narration stating that one should not cut meat with a knife because it is the practice of the non-Arabs (Ajam) is not considered authentic. Ahmad considered it unestablished. The practice of the Prophet (peace be upon him) contradicts this, as he cut pieces from a roasted sheep shoulder (jamb) with a knife before laying the knife aside to pray, as evidenced by the narration of Amr ibn Umayyah al-Dhamri. Furthermore, a narration from Mughira ibn Shu'bah states that the Prophet (peace be upon him) took a blade (shafra) and began to cut a roasted piece of meat before discarding it when Bilal announced the time for prayer.
