Is it permissible to eat food containing weevils or worms?

Primary text
It is permissible to eat foods containing weevils and worms, such as fruits, cucumbers, melons, grains, and vinegar, provided that the consumer does not find it repulsive and is amenable to it, because abstaining from such things is difficult. It is also permissible to eat honey that contains its debris or bee larvae; however, purifying it is better. There is a narration that the Prophet, peace be upon him, was presented with old dates, and he began to search them, remove the weevils, and purify them, which is the preferable action.
