Is the meat of an animal killed by a sharp projectile permissible to eat?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Hunting and Slaughter
Primary text
If a stone projectile is sharp like an arrowhead, then if it kills with its sharp edge, it is permissible. If it kills with its broad or heavy side, it is considered 'waqidh' and is unlawful.
Supporting text
This point is derived from the comparison made with the arrow ('al-mi'rad'), where striking with the shaft makes the kill unlawful.
