Primary text

Meat slaughtered by a Muslim for Christian temples or festivals is permissible. This is explicitly stated. Imam Ahmad and Sufyan al-Thawri permitted eating meat that a Magian slaughters for his deity, which a Muslim then slaughters while uttering the name of God. Isma'il ibn Sa'id reported that Imam Ahmad permitted consumption if a Muslim slaughters what is offered to their deities.

Supporting text

If a Jew or Christian slaughters it and names only God upon the animal, it is lawful because the condition for permissibility is met. However, if one knows that the slaughterer mentioned other than God's name, or intentionally omitted the name, it is unlawful.
