Selling the monkey is not permissible. This ruling is supported by Umar, 'Ata', Mujahid, Mak'hul, and Al-Hasan. Ibn 'Abd al-Barr stated that there is no dispute among the scholars of the Muslims that the sale of the monkey is impermissible.
