How are calculations performed when the base ruling number contains whole numbers only or contains fractions?

If the base ruling number is an integer (a whole number), the calculation follows the methods described above. If the shares contain fractions, these fractions must first be simplified by finding a common denominator, similar to the procedure outlined for apportioning the qirats of a dinar.
