Primary text

The two mentioned claimants receive nothing according to the consensus of all jurists, because their mothers (the intermediate inheritors) are excluded by the completion of the two-thirds share taken by the daughters. The half share remaining is divided equally between the son and his sister, and the other half is divided among the three daughters. This results in a base of twelve shares for those who disagree with the minority, or six shares for those who favor the minority view, which is also the view of the people of kinship.

Supporting text

Abu Yusuf's opinion is that the son receives half, and each daughter receives a quarter, resulting in a base of four. Muhammad's opinion is that the offspring of the first sister receive two-thirds divided among them into three, and the other receives one-third, resulting in a base of nine.
