Primary text

The distribution for the combination of a wife, a sister, and a grandfather (Jadd) or grandmother (Jaddah) follows the rules established for similar combinations, with one exception: the grandmother receives one-sixth when present with a single sister or a single brother. If there is more than one grandmother, her ruling is the same as the mother's. If there is no grandmother, the division starts from four shares: the wife receives one-fourth, leaving three shares. The grandfather receives two shares, and the sister receives one share. If there is another sister, the remainder is divided between them into four parts, resulting in a valid division from sixteen shares. If a brother replaces the sister in the preceding scenario (wife, sister, grandfather), the division is valid from eight shares. If a brother, a sister, and three sisters are present, the remainder is divided among them into five parts, resulting in a valid division from twenty shares. If the number of heirs increases beyond this, the grandfather receives one-third of the remainder shared between him and the sister(s). The remaining portion is divided among the rest of the heirs. If the heirs are from both paternal and maternal lines, the issue of the father's son receives nothing because the remainder after the grandfather's portion does not exceed one-half, which is the minimum fixed share for the issue of both parents.
