Primary text
The daughter of the maternal uncle (bint akh li-umm) receives one-sixth (al-suds) of the estate, and the remainder devolves to the daughter of the paternal nephew (bint ibn akh li-ab). This distribution is upheld by the two authoritative jurists (al-Manzilanayn). In terms of kinship proximity to the deceased, the daughter of the maternal uncle is considered closer.
