In this case, known as 'Al-Mushtaraka' (The Shared Case), the distribution follows fixed shares: the husband receives one-half, the mother receives one-sixth, and the two uterine brothers receive one-third jointly. The sisters, full or half, and the father are excluded. The basis for this is the established division of obligatory shares (furud).

Some jurists employing the principle of 'tashrik' (sharing) assigned one-ninth to the full brother and one-ninth to each of the two uterine brothers.
