Book of Inheritance Shares (Farā'id)
Primary text
When two individuals share the same mother, and one of them is also a paternal cousin to the other (implying one is a full brother to one of the shares, or that the lineage structure results in a one-third share allocated to the two related siblings, and the remainder goes to the cousin), the one-third share is divided between them, and the remainder is given to the paternal cousin. The calculation resolves into shares out of six, where the paternal cousin receives five shares and the other individual receives one share. There is no disagreement regarding this distribution.
