When a freed slave (Mawla) of the son of an *Ila'an* (oath of imprecation) dies, leaving behind the mother of the original master and the brother of the original master, is inheritance through the bond of manumission (Wala') established for them?

Primary text
There is a possibility that inheritance via the bond of manumission is established for the master's mother and brother because the status of residuary is established in this context. This possibility was related from Abu Yusuf. The ruling on whether the mother or the brother inherits is subject to differing narrations.

Alternatively, it is possible that they do not inherit through the bond of manumission because women do not inherit through the Wala' (bond of manumission) unless they themselves manumitted the deceased or someone whom the deceased manumitted. This second possibility refutes the first, based on the established principle used to distinguish inheritance for sisters inheriting alongside daughters, and for those established as residuaries through female relatives who are sisters.
