Which heirs are never deprived of inheritance?
Chapter on Who Inherits from Men and Women
Al-Mughni
Book of Inheritance Shares (Farā'id)
Primary text
Five individuals are never veiled or deprived of inheritance: the two spouses (husband and wife), the two parents (father and mother), and the direct offspring (children). This is because their right to inheritance is established directly through themselves without any intermediary between them and the deceased. All other heirs inherit through an intermediary, and thus can be veiled by one closer to the deceased than they are.
