Primary text
The case where the estate must be reduced by two-thirds (تعول بثلثيها) is specifically the 'Um al-Furookh' case. This occurs when there is a husband, two or more uterine siblings, a mother or grandmother, and two heirs from the paternal line (full siblings or paternal siblings, or one of each). In this configuration, the distribution must devolve to ten shares from the initial six, necessitating proportional reduction for all heirs.
