Chapter on Inheritance of the Grandfather
Al-Mughni
Book of Inheritance Shares (Farā'id)
Primary text
The inheritance is divided such that the wife, daughter, and sister receive their fixed shares, and the remainder is divided between the grandfather and the sister in a ratio of two parts to the grandfather and one part to the sister (a total of three parts). The initial distribution resolves to a denominator of eight (Tashih to eight).
