Chapter on Distant Kindred (Dhawu al-Arham)
Al-Mughni
Book of Inheritance Shares (Farā'id)
Primary text
If a Magian marries his mother, has a daughter from her, and then dies, his mother inherits one-sixth, and his daughter inherits half. His mother inherits nothing by her right of marriage, and his daughter inherits nothing by her status as a uterine sister.
Supporting text
If the daughter (who is the granddaughter of the deceased Magian's mother) dies after him, she leaves behind a daughter who is a granddaughter. This granddaughter inherits two-thirds by the convergence of kinship ties. According to the other opinion, she inherits half.
