What is the inheritance share of a female descendant (*jariah*) when the two claimants who fathered her die leaving their own father?
Chapter on Sharing in Purity
Al-Mughni
Book of Inheritance Shares (Farā'id)
Primary text
If the two claimants were brothers and the claimed descendant was a female slave (*jariah*), and they died leaving their father, she receives half of each brother's estate, and the remainder goes to the father. If the father dies later, she receives half because she is the granddaughter (*bint ibn*).
Supporting text
Al-Khabari narrated from Ahmad, Zufar, and Ibn Abi Za'idah that she receives two-thirds because she is the daughter of the son's daughter, thus inheriting the shares of two granddaughters.
