The ruling in the case where a man marries a woman pregnant by a lawful husband is the same as the previous issue concerning marriage during the *iddah*, because pregnancy from the husband necessitates an *iddah*. Al-Shafi'i holds this position regarding a woman pregnant by her husband.

Abu Hanifa and his companions rule that they do not inherit if the woman is pregnant by her (former) husband. Regarding a woman pregnant from adultery (*zina*), Abu Hanifa and Al-Shafi'i rule that they inherit, whereas Abu Yusuf, Zufar, and Al-Lu'lu'i rule that they do not inherit.
