Primary text
There is consensus among the scholars of Islam that they do not inherit from each other based on marriages involving close relatives (*dhawat al-maharim*). However, regarding other types of marriages, if the marriage was considered valid by them and they affirm it upon accepting Islam, they inherit from each other. This applies whether the marriage met the established conditions for a Muslim marriage or not. If they do not affirm the marriage upon Islam, they do not inherit. This ruling applies equally to Magians and others.
